Employment Minister Chris Grayling made a flying visit to Worcester to speak at a summit to discuss youth unemployment across the county. The Minister was invited by West Worcestershire MP to discuss Government initiatives to help young people get back into work. The summit was organised by Worcestershire County Council and was attended by local experts in education and employment. Harriett commented: “I was pleased that the Minister was able to drop in and speak as well as answer a few questions. “This is a huge topic and it is important that we all work together to try and find solutions to ensure young people get the best possible start in their careers.” Harriett sits on the Work and Pensions Select Committee scrutinising changes being made to the benefits system. She added: “There are many changes currently coming into force and I find it very useful to get feedback from people working in this area to take back to Westminster.”
