Harriett Baldwin today welcomed the progress made in a visit to the new Malvern Community Hospital. With just over 11 weeks to go, the MP received a briefing on the progress from NHS Worcestershire chief executive Paul Bates and chairman Bryan Smith and was given a full tour of the site by Linda Ingles who will be Matron at the new Hospital. Health bosses expect to take the keys to the new 24 bed hospital on October 29 and are aiming to be fully operational before Christmas. Harriett commented: "I was really impressed by the progress made at the site and walking the round the facilities I would like to congratulate everyone involved in this mammoth undertaking. "It was particularly pleasing to be taken around by Lin who will be leading her team into the building before the end of the year and everyone seems very proud of the project. "This really is a hospital of which Malvern people can be proud and will offer the very best care in one of the best settings anyone could imagine." She added: "David Cameron has sent me a nice letter about my invitation for him to visit the hospital and to thank the team, but because he is so busy I am not counting on him being here when the hospital opens."
