West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today welcomed news which is expected to see the mobile breast cancer screening unit continuing to visit Tenbury. Town councillors have been told that the proposed removal of the mobile breast screening services has been halted after health chiefs rethought their strategy. The move was welcomed by Tenbury’s MP who has been an active supporter of the local community hospital and wrote to the local health team to request that they re-consider the decision to halt local breast screening capability. Harriett commented: “The mobile breast screening unit is a very useful and valuable resource and I know that it is very convenient for people in Tenbury when it comes to the local hospital.” “Given that Tenbury is a long way from other locations, I am sure that the service will be well used when it comes to the town.”
