Harriett Baldwin joined a local farmer this week driving a combine harvester to crop rapeseed. Harriett was keen to ride in the cab of the massive John Deere combine harvester during her visit to Overbury Farms on Bredon Hill. Under the tutelage of farm manager Jake Freestone, the MP saw rapeseed harvested using GPS technology during the crucial August harvest. Harriett commented: “It was very exciting to see how this massive machine harvests ‘Leafmarked’ rapeseed, which will be sold on to Unilever, probably for its Hellman's mayonnaise brand. “I am very grateful to Jake for letting me have this opportunity and wish him and every local farmer all the best as the harvest continues this month.” Photo: Jake Freestone demonstrates the controls of the John Deer S6801 combine harvester to Harriett Baldwin MP before setting off.
