West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has this week praised the efforts of town officials and traders to develop a new brand image for the town. The branding, designed in conjunction with students at Worcester University, is currently being demonstrated to residents at a ‘pop-up’ store on the high street. The new-look logo has been designed for use in promotional material, as well as for use by shopkeepers and businesses in the town. The re-branding comes as the town benefits from millions of pounds of public investment in the town including new bridge decoration, new flood defences and improved pavements and walkways. Harriett commented: “Upton is well and truly on the up and showing all the signs of a community with confidence about its future. “New businesses – a greengrocer, an estate agent and an antique shop - are moving in to the town taking over vacant shop space and I hear the King’s Head will be back in operation by Easter. “The new Tourist Information Centre looks amazing in the refurbished Pepperpot. “This new Upton logo will go a long way to help present a fresh face for the town and I am sure it will look great in posters, merchandise and even paper bags. “Upton is showing renewed confidence now that the persistent flood problems have been resolved. “It is clear that a new chapter is opening up for the town and I hope we have a great summer of festivals to help local businesses to benefit.”
