West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin urged local organisations to bid for some of an extra £350 million that has been made available for local growth projects. The Regional Growth Fund has already allocated more than £2 billion toward projects which help to improve local infrastructure and create new jobs. So far, Worcestershire has benefitted from £1 million of the national fund – to help a county aerospace manufacturer to develop its manufacturing facilities - and the MP is lobbying to bring fresh investment into the county. Harriett commented: “The Regional Growth Fund is proving an invaluable source of funding for local projects to help our economy to recover and grow. “The money aims to support long-term projects to secure jobs across the UK and to help employers create new employment opportunities. “This is the fourth tranche of funding which has been announced and I hope that local projects which need grants of £1 million or more will apply.”
