Tory hopeful Harriett Baldwin discusses the campaign with Sixth formers

In support of World AIDS Day on December 1st, Malvern St James Girls School Sixth Form invited West Worcestershire Conservative Parliamentary candidate Harriett Baldwin to help their campaign. The girls presented Mrs Baldwin with a message, urging her to use her position if she is elected as MP for West Worcestershire to help put pressure on the government to lead efforts to increase access to generic anti-retroviral drugs.

Harriett Baldwin said, "I was very impressed with the girls' campaign. We watched a Christian Aid video about the plight of African AIDS orphans. One of the girls had worked in an African orphanage. The students had all attended the Global Student Forum. I have always been passionate about finding ways in which we can tackle the underlying causes of global poverty, and the prevention and treatment of AIDS, not just in Africa but all over the world, is fundamental to that process. I will be passing the students' concerns on to Sir Michael Spicer and I will also be trying to find a solution with the drugs companies.
