Conservative candidate Harriett Baldwin has today announced the signing up of Malvern small businesses to protest about the Labour government hike in National Insurance payments. The Westminster hopeful has encouraged local companies to put their name to a petition calling for a u-turn on the ‘jobs tax’. A range of employers have signed the petition: English Braids, David Jones and Co, Malvern Electrical, Great Malvern Hotel, Bio Systems, Countrywide Farmers and Plumbworld. Harriett commented: “I am delighted that these companies have joined me in publicly protesting about the imposition of this crippling jobs tax. “After 13 years of Labour Government – its taxes, waste, spin, division and debt – our country is heading in the wrong direction. We can’t go on like this. This election is our chance to change that and put Britain back on its feet. “ She added: “People across West Worcestershire are looking for a local champion who knows the area and is willing to stand up for them and act with integrity at all times. A Conservative choice is the only way to end the Labour’s 13 years and disastrous administration. “
