Harriett Baldwin, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for West Worcestershire has today called on local people to write in and have their say on the South Worcestershire Joint Core Strategy consultation on smaller tactical housing sites.

Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council and Wychavon District Council are currently running a series of consultations on "Site Allocations and Policies".

The SWJCS website http://www.swjcs.org/ has maps highlighting certain "infill"-type sites.

Harriett Baldwin said, "I have been to the consultations in Upton-upon-Severn, Malvern, Pershore and Tenbury Wells. There will also be consultations in some villages in 2010. Even if the Conservatives form the next government and abolish the top-down imposition of 25,500 across South Worcestershire, there will still be a need for local councils to find some sites for some housing. In addition to the large strategic sites which were part of the last consultation, these smaller, tactical sites are also ones which developers have put forward for housing development and local people ought to make sure they have their say on their preferences."
