Harriett Supports Community Fridge Cookery Tuition Plans

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her support to a project which will help to teach local people rudimentary cookery skills.

Last year, the MP helped to launch a Community Fridge project in Malvern Link, which aims to help people source fresh fruit and vegetables.

Now volunteers are offering to help people learn core cookery skills such as using a microwave to cook pasta. Harriett visited St Matthias Church, in Malvern Link, to hear about the project and donate some requested ingredients.

Harriett said:

“The local Community Fridge is an important local support activity helping people to get access to food and supplies when they need it most.

“I know what an important local resource it is, and I am grateful for the efforts of the local churches and other volunteers who help out sourcing supplies.

“I was extremely interested to learn about the project to help people pick up basic cookery skills and I made a little donation of my own to help get the effort going.

“At this time of year, it is so important to look out for people who may be less well off than ourselves, or who may need a little extra support, and I am proud that across West Worcestershire, there are so many big-hearted people who are eager to help out.”
