Harriett asks Worcestershire PCT to consider leasing space to the charity at the new Malvern hospital site.

Community Action Malvern and District is looking for better premises in Malvern. At the moment, the charity, which provides various volunteer-run services like a hospital lift service and a Shoparound service, is located on the top floor of the Malvern Town Council building in Bellevue Terrace.

The premises are difficult to access and not very visible within the community. Speaking to Jen Boyer, Chairman of Community Action and Diane Bellamy, the charity's manager, Harriett Baldwin learned of Community Action's search for better premises in the town.

Harriett Baldwin, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for West Worcestershire said, "I immediately suggested that the new Malvern hospital site could be ideal for Community Action. I have raised this idea with the Chairman of the Worcestershire PCT as part of the consultation. The small, white lodge building on Worcester Road could be a perfect size for Community Action and it would also be very visible. Since the charity provides lifts to and from hospital for people from all over the district, it really makes sense to be based near the Malvern hospital.

Separately, I would like to encourage supporters of the charity in Malvern to become "Friends of Community Action". My husband Jim and I recently joined as founder members, and I know there are so many people who support this excellent voluntary organisation who would like to help in this way."
