County businesses can build a sustainable plan for growth by looking abroad. The message will be relayed by MP Margot James at a major export event to be held in Worcestershire next week. The MP - who is Parliamentary Aide to Trade and Investment Minister Lord Green - is expected to address export issues in her speech to a group of international ambassadors and county businesses next week (March 30). Business growth is the Government’s top priority and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has set out a series of initiatives to help businesses of all size to thrive and grow. Margot James, MP for Stourbridge, commented: “I was so pleased to be invited to speak at this impressive event, and to help encourage more businesses to look beyond traditional routes to deliver business growth. “UK Trade and Investment, together with the Business Department, is active in trying to help encourage businesses to consider their capability for exporting, and this event is a perfect introduction for companies of all sizes. “As a nearby MP I am also pleased to see so many senior diplomats visiting Worcestershire to see what the county has to offer. I certainly hope this event proves to be a stepping stone towards even greater prosperity for the area, which is already home to so many impressive businesses, products and brands.” More than a dozen embassies will be attending including Russia, Taiwan, Azerbaijan, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Canada, USA, Macedonia, Serbia, Germany, India and Japan. Harriett Baldwin, MP for West Worcestershire, has been the driving force behind the event which will take place at Worcester Bosch’s HQ on March 30.
