Worcestershire’s Conservative candidates will today (Friday) kick off their own election campaign with a debate hosted by the county’s Federation of Small Business. The Westminster hopefuls will attend the FSB’s meeting at the Three Pears pub in Warndon and discuss the challenges facing entrepreneurs as an election looms. Harriett Baldwin, Mark Garnier, Karen Lumley, Robin Walker and Sajid Javid are expected to be scrutinised by local business people on key issues including the economy and the national debt. Harriett Baldwin, prospective candidate for West Worcestershire, commented: “It is vital that all candidates engage in debate and explain why they are well qualified to represent local people in Westminster. “Our Conservative policy is to do all we can to stimulate growth by supporting small business and that is the message we would like to get across today.”
