Mr. Lansley congratulated Lyn Ingles, Modern Matron and her team. He congratulated Pat Merrick, retired Chairman of the League of Friends on her 30 years of work campaigning for the new hospital. He then visited the site of the new Malvern Hospital on the Worcester Road with the PCT project management team. A bat licence was issued last Friday and now work can start on the building.
Harriett Baldwin, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for West Worcestershire, who arranged the visit said, "The team at Malvern Hospital have had a great year, opening the new Minor Injuries Unit; maintaining an infection-free hospital and planning the new hospital. I am delighted that Mr. Lansley was able to come and congratulate the team. He was also very impressed with the plans for the new £17.7 million hospital in Malvern Link"
