MP spots local bargains on Waitrose shelves

30th August 2017

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin popped in to Waitrose in Malvern to help to promote local produce sold at the popular supermarket.

And the MP discussed how the store supports local good causes as well as receiving an update on car parking issues affecting customers.

The store is currently monitoring car park use but it allows shoppers to use the car park for up to two hours without charge.

Harriett was given a tour of the store by branch manager James Aldridge and shown local products including Malvern water and local fruit juices.

Harriett commented: “Waitrose has been trading in the town for two decades and I pop in from time to time to do my local grocery shopping.

“The store dedicates sections to promoting local produce and it is good to see local brands on offer next to their international competition.

“Waitrose has a strong reputation as a good neighbour supporting local business, local causes and allowing people to use the car park to visit other nearby traders during a visit to Malvern.

“I support the stores efforts to dissuade people from parking at the store all day – allowing more people to shop at Waitrose and any of the other shops nearby.”
