Harriett invites PM to open Malvern Hospital

New West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today used Prime Minister's Questions to invite the Prime Minister to open the new Malvern Hospital.
The MP asked David Cameron whether he would be willing to join her at the opening event, expected this October.
In response David Cameron praised the work of community and local district hospitals and said that he hoped they ‘would continue to thrive’ under this Government.
Harriett has been an enthusiastic supporter of the National Health Service across the region and has actively campaigned for the creation of the new community hospital.
Harriett said:
“I was honoured to be able to place a question to the Prime Minister and like me he is a huge supporter of the NHS.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to invite him to Malvern to see the great work we are doing and to celebrate an important milestone for the NHS in West Worcestershire.”

Mr Speaker: Order. It is not against the rules of the House for a Government Back Bencher to support the Government; it is not that odd.
The Prime Minister: Mr Speaker, we all remember you doing that very well. My hon. Friend's invitation is a kind one. The commitment that we have made to maintain health spending is very important. I want to see community hospitals and district general hospitals thrive under this Government.
